In 1957, Gulf announced a new paint and ID scheme for all company delivery and transport vehicles. Most of the GULF letters were molded plastic, and were 3-D. They stuck out as much as 10 inches from the surface of the vehicle.
This Americal LaFrance pumper was purchased new in 1960, for service at the research facility in Harmarville. It is now owned and maintained by GOHS member Harold Berthy of Morgantown WV.
